Loch Lomond 2019 Open "Distiller's Cut" Edition. Image courtesy Loch Lomond Distillers. This whisky was created to commemorate Loch Lomond’s second year as the official whisky of the Open Championship at Royal Portrush, and was matured in three different types of American Oak casks. The nose is malty with a nice touch of lemon zest, honey, and a hint of freshly-cut grass. The taste has a good buildup of spices on top of a creamy background along with hints of lemon zest, vanilla, honey, and dried flowers. The finish is long, tart, and aromatic. (November, 2019)
